We welcome your participation in the Open Mobile Consortium to create a vibrant ecosystem of open-source mobile tools for social development. Here is how you can get involved.
1. If you want to implement OMC mobile technologies:
Join the open OMC Community mailing list to discuss user needs, ask questions, and share implementations from the field.
2. If you want to participate in the technical development of OMC technologies:
Join the open Technical Group to work on technical roadmaps and code development for OMC technologies. The Technical Group holds regular meetings throughout the year, conducts code sprints, and collaborates online.
3. To learn more about the Working Group, the governing body of the OMC:
For the Working Group, the governing body of the Open Mobile Consortium and its leadership team, and how to be nominated to join in the Working Group, you can learn more here.
4. If you are interested in supporting the OMC financially:
The OMC could benefit tremendously from your support. At present, we need help funding our next Technical Group meeting, our ongoing administrative requirements, and most importantly, our ambitious technical goals for the second half of 2009. By the end of the calendar year, for example, we're aiming to implement cloud-based versions of all of our core Working Group members' technologies, in order to maximize potential for scalability, as well as FeedSync-based data-layer synchronization via Mesh4X to increase interoperability. These collaborative enhancements will result in suite of technologies that can reach more users in more parts of the world, perform more reliably, and work together to complement one another's strengths. If you are willing and able to support the work of the OMC, please contact Robert Kirkpatrick, OMC Chair, at kirkpatrick@open-mobile.org.
